The client’s existing website was visually complex and difficult to manage. Built with a heavy design system in Figma, translating it to Webflow without losing design fidelity, especially for dynamic components like booking modals and interactive maps was a major challenge. The original site also suffered from poor performance due to unoptimized assets and clunky third-party embeds like booking widgets. Their content structure lacked scalability, especially for 30+ unique destination pages. On top of that, key user flows such as the checkout process were broken on mobile, leading to high bounce rates and user frustration.
The main objectives were clear, which were to rebuild the entire front end in Webflow with pixel-perfect design accuracy, improve performance with a target load time under two seconds, and ensure flawless responsiveness across all devices. They also wanted reusable CMS components and advanced visual interactions, like animated filters and lazy-loaded galleries, all without writing custom code.
I rebuilt their UI in Webflow, making sure every component, from navigation to booking modals, was fully responsive and consistent using Symbols and global swatches. Native Webflow interactions like hover effects and multi-step forms were added for smoother user experience. To boost performance, I optimized embeds, converted images to WebP, and enabled lazy loading.
For CMS scalability, I restructured their collection to handle different pages efficiently and replaced their buggy JavaScript filters with Webflow’s native finsweet attributes and search system. The mobile checkout flow was redesigned to work flawlessly, and I also added a dark/light mode toggle and an AI-powered carousel, completely no-code.
The redesigned site launched with a 98/100 Google PageSpeed score, showing a major improvement from its previous 62 score. The mobile checkout flow became 40% faster, and thanks to detailed testing, there were zero client-reported bugs after launch. Best of all, the client now manages content themselves using the CMS, cutting their developer reliance by 80%.
